Industry Lounge Eatery, the new drinking/dining spot in the old Vintropolis spot, has been open for a few weeks now. I stopped by a few days ago to snap some photos and peek through the windows. It appears the design hasn’t changed much from the old Vintropolis, with the much of the same banquettes and tables in the same locations. There are more TVs now, which happened to be playing the latest hockey game. That’s usually enough to keep me away, but I hear there are some people to whom that appeals. I also got some photos of the menu (pages 1, 2, 3, & 4).
The food looks fairly interesting for bar food, and if it’s executed well I can imagine it’d be pretty good. The cocktails, on the other hand, look pretty boring with all of the fruity, cloying flavors you’d expect from Sex in the City era cocktails. Still, it looks worth a shot. Anyone tried it yet?

I live around the corner and have been several times for drinks, a couple times for food.
Drinks are well-priced- $5.95 martinis, $3.95 pints. Good atmosphere, and the service is very nice.
Food is pretty good. Earls/Milestone-ish, but good ingredients and well made.
It’s a great addition to the ‘hood. We needed a place like this. It’s more casual than The Smoking Dog, closer than The King’s Head, and waaaay faster than Truffles, which has nice but incredibly slow service.

yeah, I’ve been here a few times now, and I’ve been seriously impressed. Yes, the cocktails are boring, but if you’re a dude that’s not usually the part of the menu you’re looking at. for me, it was the stellar selection of good wines and scotchs that I was hooked on, plus quick service and very friendly, casual bar staff. Seriously laid back, a welcome addition to the area!

My girlfriend and I went last night for the first time…. We were pretty much the only two in there, so that wasn’t very exciting, but the food and the service was great! I would go back for sure!

I have officially decided that Industry is my new favourite place! I will be telling all my friends, I just wish it was open for lunch, we are all getting tired of the usual!
