Yesterday, a poster on egullet reported that West’s exectutive chef, David Hawksworth, is leaving to develop his own restaurant in The Hotel Georgia. This has been cofirmed by Hawksworth himself, so it seems the deal has been finalized.
This move has huge implications for West, who now much replace one of the top talents in the city. I dined at West about a year ago and was very impressed by both the creativity and simplicity of the dishes the kitchen sent out, surely a testament to Hawksworth’s talent. The move also makes this new restaurant in the Hotel Georgia one of the most anticipated openings in the coming year.
